Cyber Security Protection

Cyber security has become a necessity in today's connected world. More business is being conducted remotely using technology from different parts of the globe. Brick-and-mortar companies are embracing a work-from-anywhere approach to save money and improve performance. Simply Supported recognizes this and understands the risks involved. We not only provide the best software to protect your business, but also a plan to combat everyday security threats.

A core component of a cyber security plan is knowing what to do if a vulnerability is exploited. This is why Simply Supported has developed partnerships with the most reputable cyber security companies in the industry. Not only are you provided with anti-malware protection that helps protect against viruses, malicious software, zero-day attacks, etc., you also have a security operations center which provides another layer of protection and expertise at your fingertips. This is accomplished through the use of a managed detection and response (MDR) service.

Any business is only as strong as its weakest link - the people using its technology. Most cyber-attacks use techniques that work to exploit people in order to gain higher levels of access to a company’s equipment and data. This is typically accomplished using social engineering to confuse people into unknowingly assisting in the attack as it is taking place. Simply Supported understands this, and as a trusted partner, can educate your staff on the best practices that are necessary for your overall cyber security plan.

Disaster Recovery

A cyber security plan is key to feeling safe but it doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t have a procedure in place in the event that something goes wrong. You may feel secure with your protection, or feel that your IT needs aren’t the same as a larger business - but what would happen to your business if your data was compromised? What would the consequences be if you couldn’t serve your customers for an extended period of time?

It is critical to have a disaster recovery plan in place to protect yourself and your customers. The first step in any disaster recovery plan is to back up your data. Simply Supported uses a 3-2-1 strategy for keeping backups of your critical data. This means having three copies of your data - two are stored on different media types, and one is kept off site. The second step in your disaster recovery plan is understanding what is required to restore your data if it becomes necessary. Understanding the length of time required to restore your data, and the amount of technical labor required, allows for peace of mind, and a speedy recovery from your worst-case scenario.

Data Backup

Backing up your data is the first step to protecting yourself from the exploitation of any vulnerabilities an attacker can find on your network or system. Simply Supported’s 3-2-1 strategy is the most effective way to ensure that you do not lose your data to malware attacks, a virus, or other strategies attackers use to get into your system.

This means having three copies of your data - two stored on different media types, and one kept off site. Using this strategy provides extra protection against losing critical data, and the possibility of your business not being able to operate for an extended period of time.

Simply Supported’s data backup extends to:

  • Workstation & Server Image based archival
  • M365 (including email, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, etc.)
  • G Suite (Including email, My Drive, shared drive, contacts, calendar, etc.)

Patch Management

Patch Management utilizes patches to keep software up-to-date and protect your company from unforeseen vulnerabilities or bugs that can be exploited and negatively impact your business. It will administer and apply updates to software, including operating systems, applications, and other programs.

Patch Management will remedy any issues with the varying versions of software programs and assist in analyzing existing software programs to detect any security risks or necessary upgrades.

Password Management

Password-related data breaches and cyberthreats can be detrimental to targeted businesses, costing millions of dollars and some serious negative PR for your company. From customer information to internal data, a ransomware attack or data breach can mean the beginning of the end for your organization.

Simply Supported’s password management system provides an encrypted vault that automatically generates strong passwords. The end user only needs to know the master password and the rest of the work is done for them. There’s no need to write down passwords or keep them in a log somewhere that can render them vulnerable to cyberthreats. This, in effect, assists in maintaining compliance standards, strengthens security, saves time (eliminating the need for employees to reset passwords or recycle them), and limits any risks of a data breach.

System Monitoring

Keeping your computer and servers up to date is vital to running your business without unexpected interruptions or loss of important data. Our system monitoring service provides tracking of your most important tools - computers, servers, routers, applications, and any equipment that is critical to keeping operations afloat. Any indication of an issue (temperature fluctuations, hard drive deteriorating, equipment failure, etc.) will generate an actionable alert, and the problem will be remedied before any serious damage can be done.

Network Monitoring

Network Monitoring provides periodic checks on the equipment in your network, ensuring that everything is up to date and working to its full capacity. It notes changes in environments, or to third parties, and triggers updates that need to be made to keep your system current, keep all components compatible, and guarantee optimal performance. Avoid crashes, freezes, overloaded servers, malfunctioning routers, and other issues that can lead to network failures or service interruptions.
